A shop run by people who grow
Most dispensaries in Chiang Mai buy from whoever has stock that week. We grow some of ours, and the rest comes from people in this community we have bought from for years.
The Spot is on Nimman Soi 11, on the ground floor of a building we fill all five floors of. It is run by Siam Bloom Co., Ltd., registered in Chiang Mai in February 2023, and it holds licence ชม-3-335/2566 from the Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office.
Why we do it this way
One of us came up through growing in California, which is a long way from Chiang Mai in most respects and not so far in the ones that matter. Same obsessions. Watching a room, chasing humidity, arguing about when to cut. The rest of it, the retail, the signage, the queue at the counter, that is downstream of whether the plant was looked after properly.
So we grow at Laddaland, an hour north of the shop. We do not grow all of it, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The rest comes from small growers around Chiang Mai we buy from directly, people we have known for years and whose rooms we have stood in.
Own-grown or not, it gets tasted here before it goes out. When something on the shelf is good, we know why. When a batch is not our best, we know that too, and we would rather say so than talk it up. That sounds like a small thing. Stand in enough shops here and you will notice how rare it is.
On the rules
Thai cannabis law changed in 2025 and changed again in 2026, and a lot of the industry responded by keeping quiet and hoping. We went the other way. Our licence is on the wall by the door. We explain the prescription process to anyone who asks, including people who then go and buy somewhere else.
Partly that is self-interest, because a market full of shops pretending nothing happened is a market heading for a crackdown that takes everyone down with it. Mostly it is that being straight with people is easier than the alternative.
How something gets on the shelf
- It comes from a grower we know Some of it is ours, off Laddaland Farm an hour north. The rest is bought directly from small growers around Chiang Mai. We do not buy from brokers and we do not buy a pallet of something nobody can put a name to.
- We taste it before we take it Every batch, own-grown or not. Smell, structure, how it breaks, how it burns. If it is not right it does not come in, which occasionally means a thin shelf for a week.
- It gets graded honestly Including downward. Every farm has batches that came out average, ours included, and we would rather tell you than sell you something you do not come back for. This is the part shops skip. Everything premium, everything fire, everything top shelf, and none of it means anything by the third visit.
- It is stored like it matters Sealed, out of direct light, in a room that is not tracking the weather outside. In a climate that sits above eighty-five percent humidity for four months, storage is not a detail.
- You get told where it came from Ask, and we will tell you the farm, roughly when it came down, and what we think of it. That is the whole promise. We cannot publish prices or stock here, so the rest of the conversation happens in the shop.
The rest of the building
Above the shop there is a lounge for customers, Safehouse on the third and fourth floors, and a rooftop coffee shop that anyone can walk into. Sweettooth Seeds is the seed side of the same business. None of it was a business plan. It happened because we had a building and kept thinking of things to put in it.

Who owns The Spot in Chiang Mai?
The Spot is operated by Siam Bloom Co., Ltd., registered in Chiang Mai in February 2023, company registration 0505566003007. It holds controlled-herb licence ชม-3-335/2566 from the Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office.
Does The Spot grow its own cannabis?
Some of it. Part of the shelf comes off the company’s own Laddaland Farm, about an hour north of Chiang Mai. The rest is bought directly from small growers around Chiang Mai that the shop knows by name. Everything, own-grown or not, is tasted before it goes on sale.
Is The Spot a licensed dispensary?
Yes. Licence ชม-3-335/2566, issued under the Protection and Promotion of Thai Traditional Medicine Wisdom Act B.E. 2542 and displayed at the front of the premises as condition 1 of that licence requires.
Why are there no cannabis prices on this website?
Thai licensing conditions prohibit advertising controlled herbs for commerce and prohibit selling them through electronic channels. That is why there is no price list, no stock level and no ordering on this site. Accessories such as rolling papers and grinders are not controlled herbs and are listed with prices.
What else is in the building?
A customer lounge on the second floor, Safehouse studio apartments on the third and fourth, and the Sway CNX rooftop coffee shop on top. All of it is run by the same company and shares one entrance on Nimman Soi 11. Sweettooth Seeds, the seed side of the business, is run out of the same operation.

Tell you who grew it and roughly when it came down. Tell you when a batch is not our strongest. Explain the prescription process even if you buy elsewhere. Say we do not know when we do not know.

Quote a THC number we have not tested for. Claim cannabis treats a medical condition. Sell to anyone under 20. Talk you into something stronger than what you came in for.
