- Is weed legal in Thailand in 2026?
- Cannabis is not a narcotic in Thailand, but since 26 June 2025 cannabis flower has been a controlled herb under the Traditional Medicine Act. It can be bought legally only with a PT 33 prescription from a licensed practitioner and only from a licensed shop.
- Do I need a prescription to buy cannabis in Chiang Mai?
- Yes. A PT 33 prescription from a licensed practitioner has been required to buy or hold cannabis flower in Thailand since 26 June 2025.
- Can tourists buy cannabis in Thailand?
- Yes. Tourists follow the same PT 33 prescription process as Thai nationals and present a passport in place of a Thai ID card.
- How old do you have to be to buy cannabis in Thailand?
- You must be 20 or over. Thai law also prohibits sale to anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, and to pupils and students, except on a practitioner’s prescription.
- Can I smoke cannabis in public in Chiang Mai?
- No. Public consumption is treated as a public nuisance offence in Thailand and carries a fine. Consumption inside a dispensary is also prohibited unless administered by a licensed practitioner.
- Can I take cannabis out of Thailand?
- No. Carrying cannabis across a Thai border is a serious criminal offence in either direction, even with a valid Thai prescription. This includes seeds.
- Is CBD legal in Thailand without a prescription?
- Yes. CBD and hemp products containing under 0.2 percent THC are legal in Thailand without a prescription. Extracts above 0.2 percent THC remain Category 5 narcotics.

- The Spot is at 36 Nimmana Haeminda Road, Lane 11, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand, in the Nimman neighbourhood about five minutes on foot from Maya mall.
- What are The Spot opening hours?
- The Spot is open from 11:00 to 22:00, seven days a week, including public holidays.
- Do I need to book before visiting?
- No. The Spot is walk-in during opening hours. Messaging ahead on LINE is only useful if you want to ask about the prescription process first.
- Is there parking at The Spot?
- Scooter parking is available directly outside. Car parking on Nimman Soi 11 is limited, so most visitors park at Maya mall or One Nimman and walk across.
- Is The Spot licensed?
- Yes. The Spot is operated by Siam Bloom Co., Ltd. under licence ชม-3-335/2566, issued by the Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office. The licence is displayed at the entrance, as Thai regulation requires.
Buying and delivery
- Can I order cannabis online from The Spot?
- No. Thai licensing rules prohibit the sale of controlled herbs through electronic channels, so cannabis cannot be ordered or reserved through this website. Accessories can be added to a basket and collected in the shop.
- Does The Spot deliver in Chiang Mai?
- Yes, within roughly 5 km of the shop on Nimman Soi 11. Delivery is free on orders of 2 grams or more. Arrangements are made by phone or messaging, not through the website.
- What payment does The Spot accept?
- Cash and Thai bank transfer including PromptPay. Payment is taken in the shop or on delivery, never through this website.
- Does The Spot sell wholesale?
- Yes, to holders of a section 46 licence only, as Thai law requires. Licence verification is the first step and enquiries go through the wholesale page.
