Somewhere to actually sit
Most shops in Nimman want you in and out. The second floor is the opposite: sofas, tables, a screen, and no reason to hurry. For people who have come to the shop or up to Sway.
What it is
A whole floor between the shop and the rooms, given over to sitting down. It came about because people kept buying something downstairs and then standing on the pavement wondering where to go, which seemed like a waste of a building.
Nothing is sold up here and there is no minimum spend. If you have been in the shop or come up for a coffee at Sway, the floor is yours for as long as you want it.
What the floor is for

Somewhere to sit
Sofas and low tables under the neon. Most people come up for twenty minutes and stay for two hours, which was more or less the plan.

Somewhere to work
Full tables, plugs, and the same fibre the rest of the building runs on. Nobody will hover over you or ask you to order again.

Films, music, a console
There is a screen and a games controller and the music is usually somebody’s pick rather than a playlist bought by the metre.

Nothing to buy
It is not a bar and there is no till up here. It is a room for people who have come to the shop or to Sway.
One rule
You cannot consume on the premises. That is a condition of our licence and it applies on every floor, this one included. The lounge is a place to sit.
Getting up there
Same door as everything else, 36 Nimmana Haeminda Road. Ask at the counter on the ground floor and go up. Open 11:00 to 22:00, every day, the same as the shop and Sway.

What is the lounge at The Spot?
The lounge is the second floor at 36 Nimmana Haeminda Road, Lane 11, Suthep, Mueang Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai 50200, Nimman Soi 11. It is a room with sofas, tables, a screen and a games console, open to customers of The Spot on the ground floor and of the Sway CNX rooftop coffee shop. Nothing is sold on that floor.
Is there anywhere to work in Nimman with wifi?
The lounge has full-size tables, power and fibre wifi, and nobody will ask you to keep ordering to hold a seat. It is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00 to customers of the shop or of the rooftop coffee shop.
Can you consume cannabis at The Spot?
No. Consumption is not permitted anywhere on the premises, which is a condition of the licence. The lounge is a place to sit, not a consumption space.
Do you have to buy something to use the lounge?
It is for customers of The Spot or of Sway CNX upstairs, so a coffee counts. There is no minimum spend and nothing is sold on the second floor itself.
What are the lounge opening hours?
The same as the rest of the building, 11:00 to 22:00, every day.
