Where to Buy Weed in Nimman, Chiang Mai

Nimman is where most people end up, and for good reason. It has the highest density of dispensaries in Chiang Mai, the most competition, and the shortest walk between three shops if you want to compare.

It also has, because of that density, a wide spread in quality. Here is how to read it.

First, the thing that changed

Since June 2025 you need a PT 33 prescription from a licensed practitioner to buy cannabis flower in Thailand. This applies everywhere, Nimman included. Any shop that sells to you without asking is either not checking or not licensed, and both should tell you something.

How to judge a dispensary in about ninety seconds

Look for the licence at the door. Condition 1 on every Thai controlled-herb licence is that it must be displayed visibly at the front of the premises. It is a physical document, Thai language, with a red seal. Shops that have one tend to display it proudly. Shops that do not will change the subject.

Ask where it was grown. A shop that buys from three brokers will give you a vague answer. A shop connected to a farm will tell you the farm, the room, and probably more than you asked for. Neither answer is wrong, but the second one means somebody along the chain is accountable.

Look at how it is stored. Glass, sealed, out of direct light. The 2026 regulation requires separated, quality-controlled storage and there is a visible difference between a shop that took that seriously and one that put jars on a sunny shelf. In this climate, light and humidity do real damage.

Smell it if they let you. Any decent shop will. If everything in the room smells the same, the cure was rushed across the board.

Notice whether they ask your experience level. Somewhere that sells you the strongest thing they have without asking a single question is optimising for today’s till, not for you coming back.

What to ignore

The shopfront. Some of the best operations here are plain and some of the worst have neon and a wall of screens. Fit-out budget tells you about capital, not cultivation.

A THC number on a handwritten card. If it has not been lab tested, it is a guess, and a guess with a decimal point is still a guess. A shop that says “we have not tested this batch, but here is how it behaves” is being more useful than one quoting 31 percent off the top of its head.

Aggressive discounting. Cannabis sitting too long loses its terpenes and its value. Deep discounts sometimes mean generosity. More often they mean age.

The Nimman layout

Dispensaries run the length of Nimmanahaeminda Road and spread through the numbered sois on both sides. Soi 11, Soi 13 and Soi 17 have clusters. Maya mall at the top end and One Nimman at the bottom are the two landmarks everyone navigates by, and almost everything in Nimman is within fifteen minutes’ walk of one of them.

Practically, that means you can see three or four shops in half an hour. Do that. The variation is bigger than you would guess.
